President Harry S. Truman's remarks at a meeting of a training orientation course conducted by the CIA. The President spoke at 12:27 p.m. in the Department of Agriculture Auditorium in Washington, to the final session of the Central Intelligence Agency's eighth training orientation course for representatives of various Government agencies. In his opening words he referred to Gen. Walter Bedell Smith, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Later he referred to Fleet Adm. William D. Leahy, former Chief of Staff to the Commander in Chief of the United States Army and Navy, and Vice Adm. Wilson Brown, former Naval Aide to the President.
